Internal consistency is based on the quality of the data input from several sources. Extraneous lines and other obvious errors were removed, but no detailed checking was attempted to determine whether polygon fits were contiguous, etc.

Horizontal accuracy for the most part is probably no better than about 400 meters at the polygon boundaries. This is in part because the data are derived in large part from maps of drainage basin boundaries (source data unknown or unverified) and geological formation boundaries. The geological data was digitized from a 1:500,000 scale map.
