The 2013 Archaeology Camp is for students going into grades 4 & 5 for the 2013-2014 school year. Camp dates are June 3-5, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program is structured for students to attend all 3 days. Registration is limited to the first 16 applicants, first-come, first-served.

The registration fee of $25, payable to SDHSF, must accompany the registration and release forms (see link above). These items must be received by May 22.

Your forms and payment may be dropped off in Administration at the Cultural Heritage Center OR mailed to Archaeology Camp/Paige Olson, 900 Governors Dr., Pierre, SD 57501.

Students should be dropped off between 8 & 8:30 a.m. at the Cultural Heritage Center. From there they will be transported to the old Fort Galpin archaeological site near Oahe Downstream Recreation Area, Campground #3. They will need to bring a lunch every day, water will be provided. Snacks will be provided twice daily. Students should be picked up at the Cultural Heritage Center between 4:30 & 5 p.m.
