Historic Window Workshop
May 14-16, 2010
Participate in a hands-on workshop and learn to repair historic wood windows while rehabilitating the Oahe Chapel. The workshop will be instructed by nationally known historic preservation consultant Bob Yapp of Preservation Resources Inc. (PRI). During this 3-day window workshop, Yapp will teach 16 students the tricks of the trade. The students will work each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each participant must commit to working all day each of the 3 days. At the end of the workshop, all 8 windows in the Oahe Chapel will be repaired and reinstalled. Do not miss this unique preservation education opportunity! The workshop will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
FACULTY: Bob Yapp, founder of Preservation Resources Inc. (PRI), promotes historic preservation as one of the most important cultural and economic development tools in the United States. He has dedicated himself to teaching people all over North America how to become artisans in the preservation trades.
COST: $30 per participant, includes on-site lunches & breaks
