Deadwood Fund Grant - Funded by a portion of the gambling revenue generated in Deadwood, South Dakota. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 given to projects that retain, restore, or rehabilitate historic buildings, structures, and archaeology sites in South Dakota for commercial, residential, or public purposes.
Federal Tax Incentive - 20% tax credit on certified expenditures when an income-producing historic structure is rehabilitated for new use. State Property Tax Moratorium - An 8-year moratorium on the property tax assessment of certified improvements. Available to properties listed on the National or State Register of Historic Places.
Frances “Peg” Lamont Preservation Fund for South Dakota - Established to encourage grassroots preservation of the rich architectural and historic resources of South Dakota, eligible grant activities include building re-use feasibility studies, structural investigations, educational workshops, and other planning needed to help save historic places in South Dakota.
